The law on preventing sexual harassment in the workplace is changing

On 26th October 2024 the new Worker Protection (Amendment of the Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 will come into force. However the new guidance hasn't been released yet. New guidance:

 Main changes:

 It will be compulsory that employers can demonstrate that 'reasonable steps' have been taken to prevent sexual harassment including by third parties: customers, clients, contractors etc.

 Example of reasonable steps will include:

1. Clear, well communicated anti-harassment policy.

2. Staff Training.

3. Implementing an anonymous reporting mechanism.
