Work Related Violence Report (HSE)

HSE Work-Related Violence Statistics 2023-2024 (these are the most recent statistics available):
- There were an estimated 642,000 incidents of work-related violence in England and Wales, including 290,000 Assaults and 352,000 Threats
- An estimated 60% of offenders were unknown to the victims
- Types of injury as a result of assaults: 25% minor bruising or black eye, 10% severe bruising, 16% scratches, 12% cuts, and 14% other injuries
- The occupations with the highest risks of experiencing work-related violence were those involved in protective services, health & social care, and sales
- Alcohol use was an influence in an estimated 52% of assaults and drug use in an estimated 37% of assaults
- The risk of being a victim of work-related violence is 1.1%
