Delivering Physical Intervention Training (Level 3)

This programme has been developed for:

Individuals who are responsible for delivering physical intervention training to staff .

The course material has been developed in several formats to meet the needs of each sector, these inc: health & social care, public service, retail, leisure, licensed trade, transport, airlines and security.

The aim of this programme is:

To develop staff knowledge, skill and competence in the delivery of a range of physical skills including breakaway and intervention techniques.

The topics covered include:

·       Be able to reduce the risks in preparation for physical intervention training

·         Understand how to safely and effectively manage the learning environment for physical intervention skills

·       Be able to deliver instruction in physical intervention skills

  • Be able to assess physical intervention skills

Method of delivery and assessment:

Formal presentation, group work, practical exercises and discussion.

Learner’s knowledge is evidenced by verbal or written questioning.

Duration of training:

30 guided hours learning
