Preventing and Managing Challenging Behaviour Training

SecuriCare offer a range of Preventing and Managing Challenging Behaviour training courses. Our managing challenging behaviour training programme is designed and underpinned by Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Person Centred approaches. The Department of Health guidelines ‘Positive and Proactive Care’ (2014) state that; ‘those organisations providing care and support to people who are at risk of being exposed to restrictive interventions must have a fully developed training policy’.     Preventing & Managing Challenging Behaviour and Physical Intervention course provides the learner with an understanding of challenging behaviour, how and why it occurs and how to respond in a positive way that encourages a process of de-escalation.

  3. Train The Trainer Course (PMCB/PI)

    The SecuriCare 'Licensed Trainer Award' will allow the successful candidate to deliver 'Preventing and Managing Challenging Behaviour' Training at their chosen level: Theory Only; Theory and Disengagement Techniques; or Theory, Disengagement and Physical Intervention Techniques. It is highly recommended that candidates hold a recognised QCF Training Award at Level 3 or higher (please see related products left). The SecuriCare Licensed Trainer will undergo training over an agreed period to meet their chosen training need. The skill set for physical techniques will be agreed as part of the training needs analysis process.

    Achieving the Level 3 Award in Education and Training will provide sufficient evidence that the learner has obtained the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions, in a variety of teaching or training contexts. To achieve the qualification, learners must complete a core unit and a choice of optional level 3 units to reach a total of 12 credits.
