Drug Testing Services
Employers have a general duty under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees. If an employee is knowingly allowed to continue working, and his or her behaviour puts others at risk, the employer could be prosecuted and held liable for any damages.
Furthermore there are additional offences under the following legislation:
- The Transport and Works Act 1992
- The Road Traffic Act 1988
- The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971

Policy development
Your policy must be easily understood, must comply with employment law, and must balance care with discipline and essentially give confidence to everyone who uses it. It is essential that all those likely to be affected by policy implementation are provided with detailed training.
Staff training
Courses may be aimed at any level of the workforce from those who deal with the day to day running of the business to more remote senior managerial posts. Each programme is again designed around your business needs and offers advice and detailed information on how to deal with substance related issues.
This training programme is classroom based with interactive delegate activities and uses numerous practical assessments to increase awareness and ability to resolve drug and alcohol problems.
Interactive media is also available including CD ROM's, DVD's and E Learning systems.
Testing services
One option is a certificated in-house sample collection; this would enable you to carry out your own legally defensible collections of Urine, Breath, Hair and Oral Fluid samples.
Alternatively a 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week callout service is on offer, with a 2hr response time.
We are able to collect Oral Fluid, Urine, Hair and Breath samples and follow full Chain of Custody onward Laboratory analysis as required.
Test results
There are two types of laboratory test available;
- An immunoassay "screening"

A GC-MS "confirmation" test.
Screening results are available within 24 hours of receipt of the sample at the Laboratory.
GC-MS confirmation results are available within 2-3 working days from the initial screening result or a request for confirmation. GC-MS provides quantitative results that are legally admissible in court.
Test results are dispatched by fax, e-mail, post or available on line.
Support services
other specialist support includes the development of ‘care contracts’ for employees which include:
