Police arrest 95-year-old man on suspicion of murder after carer dies of head injuries

RiskA 95-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a female careworker believed to be looking after him died in north London this morning.

The woman, 61, was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning with serious head injuries, but she died at today. 

Police believe she was injured while working as a carer at a flat on the Ringcross estate in Holloway, north London.

Officers were seen searching the flat yesterday after her next of kin were informed she had been hurt

The woman worked for London Care's Holloway Branch in Seven Sisters Road. 

Police took the murder suspect to hospital for treatment of a 'complex' pre-existing condition.

He will be bailed while they continue their investigations.  

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'A murder investigation has been launched after a woman died from head injuries following an incident in Islington.
